We were put on this earth not just to survive, but to thrive. Wellness and wholeness is our natural state, our birthright, so what’s stopping us? The truth is, we all have things that get in the way of our happiness: old wounds that need to be tended, past traumas that need to be healed, ways of thinking and being in the world that no longer serve us.
This is where therapy comes in.
The therapeutic relationship is like no other. It provides a space for you to truly be seen, supported and accepted, a place where your own natural capacity for healing can take over. I am not here to “fix” you or tell you what to do.
Deep down your soul KNOWS what it needs.
But if you are ready to clear away the obstacles and become who you were always meant to be, then consider me your fellow traveler.
My name is J. Sarah MacEwan (she/her). I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #130449, and I have an M.A. in Holistic Counseling Psychology from JFK University. I believe in working experientially, approaching whatever is alive for you in the moment and trusting your own organic process.
I love working with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, self-esteem, relationships, co-dependence, stress/coping skills, issues around identity, family of origin wounds, or anyone who wants to work through their “stuff” and feel better! I also have a special place in my heart for working with trauma, and currently offer a support group for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. My style is warm and heart-centered, employing a variety of modalities, including somatic/body-oriented, IFS “parts” work, mindfulness, self-compassion training and humanistic psychology.
I currently see adults throughout California via teletherapy.
