Singing is a unique and powerful tool.

For centuries, singing and song have been used to build community, to tell our stories, to honor transitions, grieve our losses, and to transform despair into hope. In addition, we now know that singing has powerful mental and physical health benefits. When we open our mouths to sing, we are activating the parasympathetic nervous system, taking us out of survival mode and into a more resourced place within our bodies. We are also reducing cortisol and stress levels, lowering our blood pressure, improving our digestion, and enhancing our cardio function.  And perhaps best of all, singing releases endorphins AND oxytocin - enhancing our sense of empathy and social connection, and just generally making us feel better!

My singing circles are an accessible and community-based approach to singing.  Utilizing simple chants, rounds, call and response and layer songs, I get people out of their heads and into their bodies. Within a safe and inclusive environment, I help people of all skill levels to access their voices and transform how they feel.

Starting now in this moment, we can all feel better. All we have to do is open our mouths and sing.
